Today's
post starts with a feeding station covered in jackdaws. There is also
a lone seagull preening in the foreground. I was on my way to view
the black-necked swan in the last 3-4 lakes in a row on the way to
the exit and catching my bus home.
Here
is an unusual photograph - two species of swan interacting. A mute swan
on one side of the fence and a black-necked the other. I could see
that there were two adult and a few young mutes walking along the
fence on one side - which really seemed to be annoying the
black-necked swan. I am still unsure where its partner is/was, but
this one really didn't like the mutes walking so close.
It
was quite amusing to watch them interacting...
These
unusual photos give you a good chance to spot the similarities and
differences between the two swan species - not much chance of not
knowing which is which!
My
final shot for the Arundel late June trip is of a bird of prey. Well
- it was supposed to be....but I cant see it very well. There was one
bird - a peregrine falcon possibly, as it was too grey and not chunky
enough for a buzzard - being bugged by two rooks.
