I think this was a blacktailed godwit I took a shot of...but there were so many birds we saw, I am going by the sequence I think I took photos in.
Another info board was taken in pictoral format for later reading...depicting birdlife.
This brings us close to the end of our day out to Pagham, but on our return journey we spotted something in the treetops, that became the subject of the rest of my photos.
It began by looking like an egret - this morphed into bringing out our bins and discovering several questionable birds, most white but some not.
2 egrets? 3-5 egrets? oh wait....something grey - 2 something greys....Oh a wood pigeon and a squirrel and a funny colored egret! We puzzled and puzzled....so I snapped and snapped. I hoped seeing them on the computer later would help ID them at this stage.
With bins, we managed to eventually sort out some definite and some indefinte sightings in the mass collective.
We definitely saw one grey heron, 3 little egret, a wood pigeon, a squirrel, and possibly saw one cattle egret, one mute swan, and 2 more little egrets....at this stage.
HERE is a link to a live curlew nest.
