As we crossed towards the bridge into Shoreham, I spotted a rooffull of pigeons at a pub.
City pigeons - not show pigeons or wood pigeons.
They covered one corner of the roof.
Of course, we also saw other birds apart from pigeons. Here is a redshank on the mudflats for example.
We had coffee near the church and I spotted more pigeons.... We wandered along the river Adur and spotted a lump of land with lapwings - and seagull - on it.
There was a wooden heron we passed....
A lucky sighting was of a kingfisher....I spotted a blue streak and saw it land near the river edge - and managed to take a picture before it flew away!

Wow, that pub and old church are so English. Very nice. I also got a kick out of the wooden heron. 😀
