I attempted to get a shot of the housemartins darting in and out of the wall holes....
...unsucessfully, alas. Even looking in the other direction at the other wall....I failed. This was partially because my new and useless camera takes 2-10 seconds to focus itself before taking a shot. Former cameras just took the shot as is.
I gave up. My next shot was of a Bewick swan....
At first, I couldnt see any of them... Neither adult Bewick, nor nest of eggs or babes. I finally spotted one Bewick - Mrs Silvertag - curled up snoozing in the sunshine....
...but where was the other one - Mr Orangtag? Ok to no nest, they had a family last year and maybe not this year as they were still young, but....then I saw a notice.... - bad news.
OH NO!!!!!!
The Canada geese had young and wandered by as I felt sad.
We left the WWT Reserve sadly....and wandered back into Arundel town along the avenue. We spotted a weird pair...a discolored mallard with a discolored Indian runner style duck.....
I'm so sorry that Mr Orangetag died. I'll bet Mrs Silvertag is pretty depressed. I wonder what happened. That sign doesn't give much information.
