Here
is a blackbird accompanied by the larger of the two rodents. My next
shot shows a water rail, wood pigeon - and large rat. My next
photograph shows a pair of blue tits munching from a feeder in the
outside woodland feeder station. I thought the colors were beautiful
in the winter sunlight, so took the shot, although bluetits are
fairly common these days, both in Arundel and my backyard.
In
the sick-cages behind the meadow maze was a swan. from a distance it
appeared to be a trumpeter, and I was concerned that one of my
trumpeter swan pals was unwell - however, when we got further around
on our circle of the WWT Reserve, both trumpeters were in situ - but
the mommy Bewick was still absent - so assumedly this is she, though
from a distance you cannot see the yellow on the beak. Here are both
trumpeters - safe and sound.
Here
is a wide view from one of the hides we actually saw something from.
You should be able to see seagull, Greylag Geese, and Shelduck. A
trip to Arundel WWT without these fellas would not be complete -
Here are the Bewick swan tribe - currently consisting of 4 cygnets.
Finally
for today, this photo attempts to show the info board and real live
goose. (It's the one on the rock)
So they have an infirmary for sick birds. That's pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI love that wide shot of the pond.
well they have a sort of mesh-cage area in compartments and the birds that are unwell often go there so they have more peace and quiet while being treated.
