Awwww,
aren't they cute? But that is not the whole picture - below is the
picture as was taken, followed by yet another pigeon picture. As you
can see the flock of city-cum-show pigeons is getting larger every
few weeks - or maybe they were just hungrier so in view more this
time, as it was much colder.
This
time on the boat trip, whilst it looked close to rain it did not
actually rain. The main item of interest on today's venture was a
young grebe that noisily scurried out of the way skipping across the
watertop rather than flying due to apparently being too young to have
flight feathers. Here is an info board mentioning a grebe.
More
colorful ducks, of which Arundel Wetlands Reserve has no shortage.
One of the hides I tend to spend a lot of time in is the woodland
hide - where regular readers may recall a family of moorhens grew up,
some greedy geese entered the human doorway, and a cheeky robin
whipped thru the window - along with the usual array of tits. On this
particular visit I was greeted by a pheasant.
Alas,
it was camera shy, lol!
He's camera shy, but that's a nice picture of him among the trees with all the Autumn leaves on the ground.
