Passing
this dozing fellow, we arrived at a lovely lake scene with a meadow
of daisies and dozing ducks - and other birds beyond.
We
had still not trekked the entire reserve as we came across this
beautiful (mandarin?) duck observing itself in the clear waters.
Next,
we encountered a feeder. It was not only providing food for the
waterfowl, but a flock of jackdaws had learnt the trick of getting
food out and were using it as their cafe also.
By
now our own chatter might have mentioned the word coffee - it might
have been a little earlier or later in our walk, but I am sure the
suggestion had arisen to utilize the cafe at the end of our
meanderings.
Ahhh, apparently it is a North American Wood Duck, not mandarin - i thought it looked a little different, but wasnt sure...
ReplyDeleteMust have been a tourist. :D
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures with the feeder. It looks like a spaceship set down and the visitors are all birds.
yes....except i doubt a space ship could have wooden legs....the lumpy bit looks like one tho!
